Jade & Tinker
Jade: Is my first officially adopted rabbit. She is also the first of my six rabbits who were adopted from East Valley Bunny Rescue in Mesa, AZ. Jade was relinquished to the rescue when she was barely six months old. Her family could not keep her in their new apt. I was sent a link to this beautiful Black/White Blue eyed Dutch and I fell in love. I wrote to the manager/owner of the rescue and off we went to adopted my "Precious Jade Beauty". She is a true diva and lets everyone else know it all the time!
Tinker: A tri-colored lop with Calico markings. He's my one and only pet store purchase (before I knew better). He was only about 8 weeks old and he was sooo cute and looked exactly like my Calico cat, so instead of him ending up in a hutch, he came home with me. Tinker is my only lop and is bonded to Jade. They met by accident (she escaped the sideyard) and by the time I found these two youngsters, they were already pretty much bonded. That was almost 4 yrs ago and they've been happily bonded and totally devoted to one another since then. They love to play in their netted rabbit safe backyard and have been going outside almost everyday of their lives. They live indoors with the other eight Bunyfarm rabbits and are totally spoiled rotten. ;-)
These two in particular love to do swirls around my feet when it's pellet time or treat time. I call them my keystone cops becos they tend to run into eachother and me while doing it! They love to snuggle and smooch too, but their all time favorite activity is going outside each and everyday to enjoy the grass, fresh air and sunlight. Tinker especially loves winter time in the desert! And although they are now going on 4 and 5yrs old, they will always be my babies.
(note: Jade, above right, is sitting amongst Petunias while Tinker, left, is smelling--and possibly nibbling--some Mexican Primroses. Both of these flowers are safe for rabbits. Before allowing your rabbits access to any flowers or other plants, please ensure that they are listed on a rabbit safe list and also that they have not been treated with any chemicals)
